Description

Created using UF. Continuing with Julia formula and a soft palette. Thanks for all your comments on yesterday's image "Sounds of the Ocean". I found with larger patterned textures that they tend to need broken up a little to avoid them looking too much like an obvious transparent layer placed over the top of the image. If I had allowed this texture to run onto the adjacent arm of the spiral it would appear unrealistic. To avoid this I created 2 texture layers, both the same but the 2nd was rotated at 180 degrees. I then created 2 modulated iteration masks for each layer with the Modulus set to 4 so the mask was black, white, black, white and so on. The 2nd mask was just the opposite of the first (white becomes black instead). Thus the texture direction is different on every other arm and has been broken up. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to view. All the best Heather

This is such an absolute beauty that I need to enjoy looking at it a long time before I become interested in any technical explanations. Gorgeous work, gorgeous colours and gorgeous textures. V

I like it a lot. A tip - not only rotating but also changing the scale of the texture layer...

WOW his is one fabulous fractal. This should be enlarged and placed in a phenomenal frame to set it off. I've seen Janet Parke's work at an art show and that is what she does. It makes a fractal breathtaking and this one would be superb.

This is wonderful work: ..the subtlety in color is alone worth a long viewing..not to mention the dynamism of structure and the discreet texturing...
