Description

I had always toyed with the idea of using watercolors. I finally got sick and tired of how arduous the marker can actually be when I want to a complete wash. Water color seemed like the most traditional medium next to marker (that has a wide range of color). I have enjoyed learning how water colors works, and especially like the magic that comes forth after you let the colors dry--of which I am very impatient. As a graphic artist, I'm used to seeing the results of my handiwork almost immediately. I guess this one reminds me of Mexico City. Colorful, rusty, polluted, and downright urban. Nothing really organic about the shapes, but the texture really does it for me. I'm learning that shape is largely what allows me to create the illusion of depth. Thank you for looking at my early watercolor work!

Arie, before I read your comments I said, "Nice watercolor washes!" I really love how watercolor appears too. Mexico City...yes! Wouldn't it be wonderful if at least parts of all cities were designated as Color Zones. Your strong shapes are not what I usually see with watercolor, so it is a pleasant change. I am looking forward to seeing your future work using watercolors.

Normally I don't care for abstracts, for my personal taste they are usually discordant. However, this really caught my eye from the thumbnail image and I had to look closer! I am so glad I did! Very striking!

I like it. I really like straight lines and geometric shapes and of course colors. So this image really appeals to me.

I like, for what it's worth. The colour changes are beautifully subtle, and the shapes varied.

What really impresses me is that you can take very simple lines, bring them together and transform them into something beautiful. The colours are so lovely. Great artwork:)
