Description

Watercolor | 10" x 7" Thanks for taking a look at this one. I hope all is well with everybody. Just playing around with shapes and composition mostly. I don't know if I have the ability to create realism with watercolor, but I sure do like the washes. This one seems like a mountain range that is synthetic, like the opposite of the image that comes to mind when somebody says "silicon valley". If there is a silicon valley, then there is a surrounding silicon mountain range. I think this image is what I ended up depicting this idea. I hope that makes sense. . .in some way :) Thanks again for viewing and reading!

Arie, there is a mountain range one can cross going from Santa Cruz to the silicon valley. But the 2 locations are worlds apart. My feeling is that the mountain is not silicon. The silicon begins once one is off the mountain. Of course there are other mountains and the silicon may have crept up those montains. Excellent work. I love your design and the colors you chose.

This too I like, though I'm not too sure about the large shape on the extreme right. Either a part is missing or there is too much of it. I tried masking it to the peak of the triangle but then the horizontal line below becomes intrusive. A more vicious crop ruins the picture and spoils the placement of the moon. Possibly a frame around the picture is all that is needed?

Oh, I really like this! I love geometric shapes, so these mountains really appeal to me. Stunning work.

I think the washes work really well - they add depth and texture to this. Very nice colours you've used.
