Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Actually, from this distance... those power poles can almost be looked upon as crosses. Fantastic image!!! I miss seeing stuff like this from the 'hills' of my home state. Thank you.

Superb to see the rays of the sun !!!! There's a beautiful sky in this shot. But not only, I like the contrast between the hill so dark and the luminous part. There is a superb symetry between the two parts. Dark and light, good and bad... all our duality in one shot.... Great shot Jan-Carel ! Have a nice evening. Hugs. V

I'll bet that you are even fitter than before, Jan-Carel - all this running about. Re the photo, the pylons give the shot perspective and individual character. I do love the rays.. Regards, John.

Sometimes man made objects can be so obtrusive in images, not so much here, the rays of light simply overwhelm them. Splendid evening shot here JC! Aloha!

Quite a lovely sunset with those golden rays. I'm glad you left the power poles in; they are part of what the scene really looked like, as opposed to perfection via PhotoShop.
