Very nice shot ... it was a sad day when GM and Ford brought about the destruction of mass transit during the late forties. They succeeded brilliantly. In most urban areas people were forced to use sub-standard mass transit, walk, or (as intended) the private automobile. I often dream of a city with no cars and adequate mass transit ... perhaps someday, some way. V

Wow!!!! When I was very little we had street cars in Detroit, but the government sold them to Mexico. I barely remember riding on one down Woodward Ave. Awesome shot!!!!

It looks like it will be with us for only a short while longer even in that dry climate. The glory days of electric traction have had spurts of advocates but the missing rails keep them in history locations. The Perris Trolley Museum in California is a great place to view and ride on old trolleys and even a big red car interurban.
