BIOI am a Florida native, I grew up in a Mayo, Florida on a tobacco, chicken and watermelon farm. I am 32 and currently enrolled at the University of South Florida, studying to become an Industrial Engineer. My great-great grandfather was one of the first photographers in Florida. I use a Canon 40D and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30. I enjoy nature photography and macro photography.

I squish them if they get in the house! it is nerve racking to have one land on your face while sleeping. a person could give theirself a black eye trying to get rid of the extreme tickle. excellent macro. surprised it held still long enough to get youe foto. they are ver afraid of humans

Crane flies are entirely harmless and will sometimes land on you and just look as if to see just what you are...LOL! Excellent photography!

great cranefly capture! they usually move before i have a chance to snap the shutter, so this is really impressive! (and, they eat mosquitos, so you wouldn't want to squish them!)

Great capture Wendy! I would never squish one of these guys, as they are squito-hunters and will eat 'em, every chance they get. Besides, they are essentially harmless (don't bite or sting). Have a great Sunday.
