Description

Okay, so he's not really a puppy and this isn't the most stellar photograph....but my sister, friend and I decided to go to the animal shelter today and got a new dog to be a companion to our dachshund. We were surprised to find a purebred bassett hound there. And he was sooo cute and sweet that we just had to bring him home. :) Anyway, we're having trouble coming up with a name for him and would love any suggestions you might have. :) Jennifer :)

He is just precious. I have three of them. Beezlee, Roofus, and Jersey Girl. He kind of looks like a Sam or Beau to me.

Awwwww, he's so cute! I think I'd call him Bloomfield - Bloomfield Bassett has a ring to it don't you think? Maybe not! :) Lovely doggie and picture though :)

He's adorable...I'd call him Holmes. I don't know why, but basset hounds always remind me of that famous detective from Baker Street 221 in London. :)

My sister has a male basset name Leroy! I got a bassett at a pound last year. If you look at my past photo's you'll find her. I had to find her a home this year because we moved to an apartment. I cried like a baby because she became our baby. I searched for a good family for her and I call and check on her about once a week. They love her dearly and have already spent a blue-coo money on her! We named her Molly. It just seemed to fit her and then we added "moo" because when she howled it sounded more like a cow mooing. "Molly Moo". LOL! My husband and I miss her so much you cannot believe it. Bassetts are very stuborn but so adorably sweet they get by with ANYTHING. Molly was very spoiled and got whatever she wanted most of the time! Good luck with your new guy. He's adorable. Truthfully, he looks a Fred to me. (Oh yeah...on Smokey and the bandit the side kick Jerry Lewis had a bassett named Fred didn't he? Hee hee
