Description

thought I would post my version. after looking at it on my computer, I realized someone was looking out one of the windows on the top left side. For anyone that does not recognize this building, it is the School book depository where Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy. The window in the thumb is the one he used to kill the President. I took this from the Reunion Tower observation floor. thanks for viewing and comments. hope you have a wonder friday and weekend

Gosh richard, I have been in that very room. I never managed to get a pic that high up and all the pics I took inside the depository, never really showed up, because of bad lighting. This is superb Sir. Steve :o)

Interesting. It is funny but I remember the building as being gray. But now that I think of it, that is because TV was Black and White in those days and that is the only place I saw it. Sad day that was. Brings back memories. Thanks for posting this. Hugssss

Great compo and POV Richard. The subject is easily overlooked indeed, as most tend to be on their way to someplace, with their attention focused on what they have yet to do and where they will soon be doing it, instead of what they are doing now and where they currently are! Thank you Richard, have a great day!

Oh yes...I recognized it immediately too as soon as it opened, it gave me a shiver! Such a tragedy happened at this place. So sad for America and the Kennedy family who like Evie said, have had more than their share of tragedy. A well captured and lighted photo Richard. It makes one take pause... V

I remember the fateful day, Novemeber 22, 1963... My dad picked me up at school and informed me Mr Kennedy had been shot... I was in shock, he was the most powerful man in the world, he had stood up to the Soviets over the Cuban Missile Crisis... The next day when I went to school the Union Jack (then the flag of Canada) was at half mast... We watched the JFK funeral on a tv the teacher had wheeled into the classroom... Since then I've seen the Zapruder film, read Mark Lane's Rush to Judgement, Six Seconds in Dallas and a condensed version of the Warren Commission... Who shot JFK, will we ever knew the truth or is the truth Lee harvey Oswald acted alone... V

It always amazes me that something so thoroughly beautiful can house such an ugly memory...awesome photo Richard and thank you for the description...I wonder how many people go there and never give a thought to what happened...or even know for that matter..the thumbnail gives an eerie feeling:-) Bravo as always on a job well done!

I knew that window as soon as I saw it in thumb. I think most Texans would. Great slice of history and an excellent capture. Next time I'm in Dallas I'll head over to Reunmion Tower and check out his view.
