Sadness is simply one of the many beautiful colors in the emotional spectrum. Did I say beauty? Yes, it is a deep and solemn emotion that we all need once in a while to help us truly know what joy and peace feel like. A time for each as NekhbetSun said. You can give or withold explinations as you wish, it is your art. Also nothing wrong with being thankful it is not your time for sorrow and loss, but too many go through life without caring that others are hurting. I know you feel the hurts of others, I see it clearly in your heart-felt art.
