Description

This is a story about love. About music becoming love. About people speaking about their love through music. Emma and John are both professional musicians. They met in the music school 25 years ago. It was love at the first note. She was a violonist. He - a pianist. She had missed a class by coming in late and the professor wouldn't let her attend. So, she was wandering aimlessly through the corridors, when she heard a piano playing Chopin. A delicate Impromptu, soft and fluttering like a butterfly. It was skill in the playing. Experience. But above all, passion. Emma peeped inside the piano room... and fell in love. With John. They were married three months after this first impromptu meeting. All along their lives, people described this couple as rather reserved and cold. "Devoted, yes, but I think love is gone." That came from John's brother. And everyone would say much the same. That is, everyone looking for love. In Emma and John's case, one has to listen for it. This couple has their own special way of sharing their feelings: through music. John doesn't call Emma "my dearest", but when he plays his piano, all the love in the world pours forth. Their children know it. Listening to John and Emma's improvised duets, the way the violin responds to the piano and takes up the note, continuing it in another key... It is the magic of love that never dies, because it was born from a common passion. John and Emma found a language they both understand and use it to share their feelings. We, their next door neighbours are profoundly grateful for being the ear witnesses of their enduring love.
