Description

Controller 13 headed toward the Throne Room with trepidation. He was still on his head-set to 518 when he arrived at the door to the huge chamber. It was at the center of the flying city and all facets of life there could be controlled and observed there. Controller 13 said to 518, "Alright. If you are feeling up to it. You lost a lot of blood and I need you intact to debrief about your findings about Panchetta's lost lab next to Trashtown." 518 Responded, "I understand, Dokka. I just want to make a slit in that door that might cause it to fall into the river. I want to get 399 and those humans out of Panchetta's lab. Good luck with the Queen." Dokka sighed, "Thanks. I'll need it. Controller 13 out." The massive blast doors to the Throne Room slid open without sound. Dokka walked without preamble up to the top of the dais and kneeled before the throne of Nova Paradisio. Someone , other than Queen Beliza, said, "You can look up. Controller 13." He looked up as the Princess arose from the Throne. Princess Safirya took a few steps toward him and nodded at him. She looked slightly stressed. She said in a calm, mellow voice, "I insisted that my mother, the Queen, go lay down for some hours worth of rest. She was understandably excited by the discovery of Panchetta's Lost Laboratory, but the tragedy of Ivor's treachery and destruction of one of the remaining FUNCTIONAL Atmospheric Purifiers, left her aghast and quite stressed. She is not as young as she used to be. I commend you for trying to stop Ivor from leaving. I need to hear your side of the story." Dokka paused to collect his thoughts. He had great espect for the Princess, but knew if the Queen died, that real power would go to her wasteral brother, Salva. Salva was also his immediate superior, from where his mother assigned him. Safirya said coolly, "You can speak freely here. No record is made of private conversations here. My brother is a dick. He cares for himself only and I'm the one who does the actually day-to-day running of the city. Ivor cost the city immeasurably in prestige. We carried the Celetial Father here to rendezvous with Refuge, but Ivor's act cost us more! Was Ivor really acting the behest of my brother?" Dokka nodded and added, "He certainly believed so. Ivor was a fool, too...but not so self-absorbed as to cut his own throat. He didn't know anyone over at city 32 who would shelter him. Cutting the Purifier coolant lines would amount to suicide to him. We need to find out what actually happened on that lander. Someone needs to recover that black-box and see the truth." Safirya looked intently at him for a moment. "Alright. You shall head up the investigation on the surface and report your findings directly to the Queen or I alone. I want you and your Scav team to keep quiet about this. Requisition what you need from stores and act with all expediency, with my authority. This is dreadfully important. I am sorry you'll get no rest tonight." Dokka stood up in shock. "Uh...alright. I mean...By your Majesty's leave....and ehr such." She waved him to go and went. He was in deep water now and felt like he was sinking fast. He shrugged on the elevator ride down to the armory. "Damn. What a day." Media is poser 6.
