Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

So you're telling me I have to go back to August 25 and start again on your gallery? Guess I should have switched to photography sooner than I did. :-) Seriously, I hope this doesn't mean you won't be posting any more. We all love your photos so much you could probably set up a paypal account and we could buy you a new camera.

Feet up at last, Jan-Carel. Cosine is right, I'm sure a few of you viewers would like to contribute to a new camera. I am due a refund on my council tax soon. Kind regards, John.

Looks like a nice place where you've been. I enjoyed this series very much, but didn't see the whole bunch of the images yet, but I will.

I was fond of my first slr (Minolta XG-1)which I used for many years. I eventually sold it to a neighbor and bought a new camera system, which I still own to this day. Digital cameras are too new to prove themselves with longevity, but the money I saved on film processing paid for my digital camera within one year, and you shoot a heck of a lot more than I do these days! Go digital or step up to medium format is my advice.
