Description
Here's another render of the P40 but now with a russian theme. I have also re-used my Me262 Messerschmitt model in this image.

minor MINOR point, but shouldn't those be swastika 'kills' on the side? looks like they're on their way to being a triple ace (some of the Russian fighters shot up to 300 or more German planes). There was a small amount of mistaken fighting between Russians and Americans, but it looks like someone was taking it personal..;) still, great modeling and landscape..keep 'em flying..

Nice one.

Excellent work - as always!

A bit of smoothing on some edges would help. THe flaps and elevator's edges stand out most. Great work on the new paintjob, and the modell is awesome!!

The russian ace planes I saw all had red stars on them. Great work on the paint scheme. what next winter white? Chinese flying tiger?

As said, its a beauty! :)

Neither in a dive from FL180 nor after dropping its tank this P-40 would catch the 262. Nice sequel. Splendid modeling.

Absolutely excellent render! But shouldn't the Me 262 show two vapor trails instead of just one? As for fighter aces, while the best American WWII fighter Ace scored 40 air victories (Richard Bong), the best Soviet ace Ivan Kozhedub managed to score 62 air victories. That was the end of the line. By contrast, the German Luftwaffe produced 92 aces with more than 100 victories, another 20 aces with 150 or more victories, another 13 aces with over 200 victories (including Gunter Rall with 275 victories) and two aces with over 300 victories: Gerhart Barkhorn with 301 victories and Erich Hartmann with 352 victories. The American notion of an "ace" (5 kills) was alien to the Germans. They only knew the category of "Experte" which required constant excellency but might be measured approximately in 60 air victories. From all Allied WW II pilots only two Soviet aces would have met that requirement...

Pakled: "some of the Russian fighters shot up to 300 or more German planes" I
m afraid you are wrong. The top Soviet ace, Ivan Kozhedub, shot 62 German planes-and he was the best Allied pilot of WWII. Lookoo is right. And they used stars instead of svastikas as far as I know-at least Kozhedub did. Lookoo: I think the difference was caused by different amount of hours apent in the air. English pilots were retired after flying some amount of hours-sometimes they maaged to start flying again, but after a long period of time. Russian pilots took part in WWII from 1941, almost in its middle. In contrast, German pilots had at least several times more hours in their flight books. Some time ago I have compared the victory number of several German and Allied pilots (some of the Germans had 100-200 victories) and I realized that their "efficiency" was almost identical. In other words, they had similar number of shoots per some given amount of time spent in the air. This is also some argument to the evergreen discussion about the reliability of German victory counts. Tallpindo: I think so, too-the gas tank shouldn
t be here. Vbarreto: If Me262 was caught in dogfight, it probably could be shot down even by a P40. They were destroyed by Spitfires and Tempests although their maximal speed was some 200km/h faster. In 1939, a siginificant number of Messerschmitt Bf109 was shot down by Polish P.11 which were sth between Hawker Fury and Gloster Gladiator regarding their parameters! It was just enough to catch Bf109 into dogfight in which they were less efficient. The same could be true for Me262-fast, but poorly maneuvreable and quite difficult to pilot. Lookoo, again: Maybe it`s smoke from a starting fire, seems the Russian managed to damage one of the jet engines...MOCA
One of the best work in this gallerie this month. Excellent render, composition, ambient, light and model...VOTE

Don't think that's a vapour trail lookoo, but smoke from a damaged engine. Lovely work bazze and I'll be in touch via IM soon regarding a related subject.

Well done, Anders! The modelling is exeptional like all your planes and the sense of action shown here looks terrific. Two thumbs up! :)

Not to take away from the argument here that is obviously of great social and political importance or anything, but i must say this is nice artwork, and people that notice little idiocincracies like this have far to much time on there hands:D i love this work,it is good modeling.
