Description

Have any one think of how much one smokes a year? Two packs a day will be around 650 packs a year. that will be 65 cartons a year. At let say $20 a carton that will be $1300 a year. Not counting heath care. You got to think of how fast heath care jump too. In the 1970 all they had was just x-rays. Today in 2005 I saw a cat scan machine that have to have the tempture control room, other wise they have to reset the cat machine each time. That cost just for the machine $1,000,000 U.S. and they have those all over the place now. This is a check out girl I ask to make a face for art but she just smile. I do not know if she smokes but when I look at the photo I saw the smokes behind her and just started to think . Did the goverment help the poor when they went after the tobaccoo companys. The goverment say they will not tax the poor but who smokes the most... the poor. I think the goverment just wish to rob the tobaccoo companys of the billions. and now they thinking of going after the fast foods and the oil comanys and sayit for your good and your heath too. I think they just want the money myself. Thanks for looking and comments and votes too

Excellent shot Jocko. I stopped smoking cigarettes when they went up to over 4 dollars a pack, and now smoke a pink pipe. I like Prince Albert Pipe tobacco the best.

Lol! I can just see you taking this photo :) She is very cute and has a pretty smile! Most everything is political these days and all focused on the money.

Scary thing is more teens smoking than in the past. Puzzling over why, especially knowing the results even better than what my generation did.

I believe the tax is suppose to be a deterrment so the people poor or rich would stop. I think the tax is too low. actually it has worked because cancer deaths from smoking has decreased. My son smokes and I wish he would stop but that is another story. I can not stand the smoke in any form first hand or second hand

You are correct. It's only about the money. I have never smoked, can't stand it. But if someone else wants to, that's up to them. The problem lies with lawyers. Class action suits only benefit the lawyers, and these bottom-feeders see piles of money with all sorts of industries. Government is not the solution, it's part of the problem.

Yep! Glad I finally gave it up! And you're absolutely right about the government. What they say is NOT what they do. So I'm casting my vote, but this time for you! Good job!!

I roll my own so I'm under two packs a day...more like 1/2 pack a day...but that stuff is more harsh. If only I had some smokable herbs rather than tobacco...then I would worry so much about it. :-) Yes.. That would fix all my problems. I do intend on quiting cigarette smoking..for the fourth time now in the last yr or so...

The cigarette girl of the clubs is gone along with the hat check. The folksey drug store and convenience store cigarette booth and it's companions in the grocery store are as American as corn.
