Description
This image is directly inspired from the supremly evocative cover artwork by Roger Dean.
This concept was used for the inner image of the Yes LP Close to the Edge, 1973... wonderful music, BTW.
You can take a look at it here:

Hope youy enjoy my interpretaion of it with Bryce...
The last touch, some lyrics of Yes to accompany the viewer...
"South Side Of The Sky"
(Anderson & Squire)
A river, a mountain to be crossed
the sunshine, in mountains sometimes lost
around the south side, so cold that we cried
were we ever colder on that day,
a million miles away
it seemed from all of eternity
Move forward was my friends only cry
in deeper to somewhere we could lie
and rest for the day with cold in the way
were we ever colder on that day a million miles away
it seemed from all of eternity
The moments seemed lost in all the noise
a snow storm, a stimulating voice
of warmth of the sky, of warmth when you die
were we ever warmer on that day, a million miles away
we seemed for all of eternity
The sunshine in mountains sometimes lost
the river can disregard the cost
and melt in the sky, warmth when you die
were we ever warmer on that day a million miles away
we seemed from all of eternity

I think it is a strange and absurd picture which i like in every way. Don't know the music and do not tend to listen to it, but I will look at your picture a few more times. Truly fantastic.

Excellent work of art here. Love the terraining here and your atmosphere is way over the top. How on Earth did you make that roadway leading to the plateu? I know the song and as soon as I saw this piece I thought of it Where we ever colder on that day, a million miles a way.... Yes Yes yes back when music was alive. Beautiful work truely beautiful work of art

A brilliant album - one of my all time favourites! This is a cracking version of the cover too. Well done!

To Quiter: Never intended to suggest hearing anything if you don't want to... anyway this image fit perfectly with that kind of music (the YES production 1971-1978, to be precise), the picture almost evoke the music, and visa versa... To steeleyes: The roadway is an object imported done by me with Lightwave modeler. Me too feel that in those days music was alive as you say... never listened anything similar anymore. Give progrock a chance ! To pakled: YES, an overdue tribute to them, and the lyrics... it's more like evoking emotions and sense of wonder than reason, you know ? Mr. Dean has his own site, of course. URL not too difficult to find too (like namesurname.com) Maybe I will post an enhanced version of Close to the Edge in the near future... stay tuned...
