Description

The title means "guardian chicken"... well, there I was, just passing-by this farm in the Apennines mountains in central Italy (Sestola is the place) and there's this this wreck and the chicken stands there, not moving for some minutes. Before it was too late, I snapped this picture. When I recall this moment in my memory, I'm still convinced the chicken was acting as a sort of guardian... that car was maybe used as a nest... who knows? A friend saw this picture years ago and asked me for a framed copy, which he received. A few months ago he told me the picture gave him an idea for a novel, which he started writing. This is his first novel, and it is complete now. Since it revolves around this picture, he wants it to become the cover art for the book... Tomorrow he has the first meeting with a potential editor, so no better excuse for posting it and wishing him and the novel GOOD LUCK! Picture taken on BW film with Minolta SRT-100X 35mm camera. The car is a FIAT 850.
