Hey guys! I finally figured out HDRI and decided 2 create this sweet BALL IN THE BIG CITY. Nothing special. I just think it looks good. Thanks 4 viewing and hopefully commenting & pointing out my mistakes.

It doesn't look as though the HDRI map is illuminating the scene as the shadows are solid black. Have you just used the HDRI map in the reflection channel on the ball? (sorry had to repost comment as I had a spelling mistake)

Thanks alot guys 4 ur comments. Yes, I only used the HDRI map in the reflection channel, cuz I dont know how 2 to make the map illuminate the scene. Any advice?

Great a sky or a large sphere and stick the HDR texture on it in the luminance channel. There is a great tutorial in the Tutorials section (duh..lol) here at Rendo, you might want to check it out. I find skies sometimes easier to use than spheres cause they're less likely to give render artifacts but it's a personal thing. Took me a long time to get a hang of it, so this looks really impressive for a first try!
