Description
The general concenses was that she needed more wheels. Well, here she is. After adding them in, I'd have to say they do make her look bigger and a little stronger. This will be the verison I'll use in my Sgt.Rock story.
Now for the coal car...

Looking good Madison. Now, what did you use for the model for this? I was going to check it out but the other images had been removed. Keep up the great work.

Great work! Much improved. Better balance.

I have to admit, that I had a hard time finding clear photo refernces of real trains to work from. Either they were too small to show detail, or they were coded so I couldn't download the image. IanABear was almost right when he said certain elements were more toy-like than real. While I made some changes due to resources, The main reference I used was a catalogue for Lionel trains. While they're certainly close to the real thing, They're still somewhat removed, and considering how I built this model out of primatives, more changes creeped in- primarily things like simplified lines and structure. I hope she's still presentable and maybe someday if I can find photo references that are clearer in detail and easier to get hold of, I can come back and revise her.

If people want the real thing, shouldn't they use a comera? :) If it's important, a visit to the library should help. I suspect, from the comments on the last one, that there's more to trains than engines with wheels... :) Actually, I used to read train books a lot when I was a kid; they have their own heroes....

you modeled and rendered in poser?
mdbruffy
Yes. Entirely in Poser 6 using both Poser primatives and primative sets I'd collected over the past 2 years.

It really needs some leading and trailing trucks to keep it on the tracks at speed. A 4-8-2 would be good or just a 2-8-2. After you make the tender you will have some smaller wheels to use. Will it have a stoker and a water tank in the tender? I have been following it as it grew. The Poser methods are humble and detailed to a finished item.

Now this is nice!! I like the shaders used and the lighting showing off the detail!! Most excellent work!!
