Description

This is a charicature of one of my favorite tv characters, Deputy Barney Fife, played by Don Knotts. Don passed away on Friday at age 81. I've always wished I could leave the real world and live in Mayberry. Maybe someday I'll get to go fishing with Barney and Andy.
**** This is supposed to be much more of a cartoon representation, than an exact likeness. I find it very difficult to do charicature work with Poser. I made the hat, bullet and badges and used Questor's revolver. Rendered in Bryce and then worked it hard in Photoshop

I hadn't heard about Don, what an amazing man. This is a very nice tribute. Looks kind of like claymation. I don't think there is a soul who won't look at this a have a fond memory visit them. Thanks again Froggy! :)

Thank you for the tribute. This is a wonderful likeness and does indeed bring back very fond memories. I wonder just how many of us there are that wish they could live in Mayberry. I've always wished it, and so has my wife.

Don was my favorite star on t.v when I was growing up, and I had the honor of seeing him live at a A.C casino 8 years ago. I miss him allready.

A great tribute to Don. I see that Andy let him get his bullet out for this portrait, perhaps the greatest tribute of all!

Oh I just had to come by and see this. Such a glorious tribute. You know, you should really forward this to "the shrine of Don Knotts". This would make an great addition to the site. Yes, he will be missed. He was such a genuine soul. I know he looks down at you and smiles warmly with pride. ~Michelle~

You know in this piece you not so much show the comic side of Don {Deputy Barney Fife} as the serious side that most never saw wtching that show. I think any of us older guys can relate to living in Mayberry and playing with Opie Excellent work

Nice work. Good touch with him holding his solitary bullet. I think Don would have really dug this.

One bullet is all you ever need if you never use it! That's real cute! Will there ever be another like him? I doubt it. Good work.

Fantastic! A favorite of mine too, he lived a good long life! I used to have a cockatial(sp) that had learned to whistle the Mayberry theme from his original owner who watched it constantly. After I acquired the bird, and he didn't hear the toon as often, he would get stuck in one verse for days...too cute. Great character Dave! (=
