Description

A looooong time ago while I was still living in LA I took my son over to Peterson's Car Museum. They have a big collection of cars that once belonged to the stars or that's been used in different movies. Anything from the car in Back to the Future to Laural & Hardy, actually. It's cars, motorbikes, train cars and much more. I cannot tell you who this car belonged to since that was less important at the time. But I liked it and the way it was presented. If anyone know what kinda car it is, don't be shy. I might add that these piccies were taken with my very first digital camera - a 4 megapixel Olympus that cost me almost as much as the Nikon Coolpix I'm using today. Thanks for your comments on the piccie of our messy power supply yesterday :)

Well well well...you just couldnt let my car shine for an entire day before you put it to shame like you just did. #:oP That is one CLEAN car, and a beautiful one as well. Probably owned by Marilyn Monroe or someone like that. My car was owned by some guy Marcus from Gotland....less important though...sigh. Beautiful shot C!!! Have a great day. #:O)

It's a 1954 KAISER DARRIN KD-161 Powered by a 90-horsepower 161-cubic inch six cylinder engine, the Kaiser-Darrin was created to compete with Chevrolet's Corvette in the growing sports car market. The Kaiser-Darrin was styled by Santa Monica-based Howard "Dutch" Darrin, who had also designed for Packard and Studebaker. Unusual for the time, the Kaiser-Darrin had a fiberglass body, a three-position top and sliding doors that disappeared into the front fenders when opened. In 1954, the model's only year of production, a mere 435 cars were built in addition to an estimated six pre-production prototypes.
