Description

Porcupine by ZOT Created: 28-2-2006 Created with: Poser 6 and Photoshop ------------------------ The Miera-Class military cargo vessel was designed solely for the secure and safe transportation of binary & trinary spacial munitions which as a safety measure are kept apart at all times during handling, storage, and transport. The Miera-Class is also known as the 'Porcupine' for it's easily identifiable appearance of having cargo pods situated over it's surfaces. Each cargo pod is mounted on a gas-filled strut which in an emergency can be fired away from the craft to a safe distance. The Porcupine always has a sizable flight exclusion zone around it and at all times is escorted by at least two fighter craft. The vessel is space-going only and has a forward personnel docking port. ------------------------ About: ------- Since I hadn't been well for quite awhile I've been bumming around not doing much but after being inspired from the long "F.V.C.S. Custom Configs...anyone want to show off their ship" thread at DAZ (http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=17415) and seeing lotsa nice craft designs I decided to throw myself back into making some craft for myself to see what I could come up with solely using the basic FVCS kit. (Even though I have Davo's other kits as well.) I'm still figuring out how to do it all again but now that I've made two new ships (the "STIG Fighter" and the "Porcupine") I'm finding it a little easier. (although at one point I was wondering why my system was bogging down....it turned out I was half asleep and had *3* accidental full copies of the Porcupine one-within-the-other without myself knowing! >;-) I'm posting these up to show the designs and to spur others into showing off their own ships here at Rendo. Making these vessels is a bit time consuming but it's relatively simple, fun, and the results are nice to look at. - Perhaps I'll get around to putting these craft of mine into proper scenes one day! :-) ------------------------ Created solely with Davo's Flight Vehicle Construction Set, aka F.V.C.S., aka FVCS (for we lazy typists) ;-) Created using the standard supplied elements in the basic kit. ------------------------ Z.

Ack! - I've now changed the 'created with' info because I accidently said it was rendered in Vue 5 Esprit when in fact it was Poser 6 (and then montaged in Photoshop). - I WAS doing a test render in Vue but then shelved it but forgot to change the text file. - Late night work fries the brain. :-P
