Description

This old can have been a real pain to get a photo of that I'm happy about. I've been to the ditch where I found it two times now and while the first piccies had better light than this one, I was a bit too close to it and didn't get enough margin on the sides. This shot has a bit too much contrast if you ask me. The light was very bright and there were no clouds around either (for a change). I'm glad you liked the bike yesterday. Thanks for all your comments :D

Its funny how something as ugly and rusty like that can look so good photographed amongst the grass. I dont know what youre talking about though...cause the last thing i would accuse it of..is having too much contrast. Have a wonderful weekend Christa. #:O)

Great shot, but indeed a tad too bright. Too bad people leave these things behind in nature, and oil etc. is not that well for the soil. Fantastic work! :)

One day you may go back and find it with just the right light, and maybe more things grown around it. Persistence.... Maybe a bit more contrast for this..I do love the subject, and see why you want it.

Interesting - I wonder what would happen if you pumped up the saturation of the grass?

This is something I would photograph too! I love old things that are full of rustic charm. Was this taken in the middle of the day? To me the greens look a tad dull. Beautiful compo Christa :)

It was taken in the afternoon...the sun is really bright when it finally peek out, which is why it was so difficult to get a good piccie of it. I will go back and try when the light is a bit more "flat" I think. As for the grass around it I desaturnated it for the sake of getting the can more in focus. Even though it's winter around here too, the grass is still very intense green and it looked very blurry with all that green around it.

I think perhaps just tweaking the levels a bit might give you a bit more depth/ dimension to the textures on both the grass and the rust patterns?
