I've been browsing the galleries for the last hour and can honestly say that this is by far the best image that I've seen although I almost missed it, the thumbnail image is too small and doesn't do this piece justice. The lighting, composition and atmosphere are perfect and I love the painted feel of the image, the muted colours work really well too. This picture deserves more attention and feedback and I can't understand why it hasn't received it. I love it - Bravo! + Vote

indeed. minus a bit too much ambience on a couple of buildings, the rest is absolutely perfect. and a most deserved vote, my friend :)

WOW! This image stopped me in my tracks. Tragic and hopeful all at once. The pose of the figure is perfection as is the lighting from the fire. This needs to be on a book cover or hanging in a museum or both. EXCELLENT!

Spectacular image. So dramatically forlorn. Well-composed, with an excellent sense of scale. The lone figure is expertly lit in a way that seems natural, starkly draws attention to him, and is a nice complementary color to the indigos and blues. This whole thing was well calculated. Superlative work.
