Description

Taken with an old Kodak Cameo camera. I worked at a nursing home in Rockleigh, NJ. This is a favorite spot for residents and their families. Normally I worked the evening shift. This particular day I did a double shift. As I started my regular shift at 3pm there was a gentleman in particular that was there that day with his wife who'd come to visit. I remember how affectionate they were. Hugging, holding hands and kissing like they were teenagers. Not caring that the world was watching. He died suddenly that night. I came out for a much needed break at 5 a.m. I don't know what made me take my camera, but when I took this pic,I took it both with and without flash. I love how the fog looks like it was washed on the photo. I prefer this one to the flash. It has a more sombre tone and really does give one to pause. Aside from the remberence of this picture, two things came from it. The first, after seeing the finished product, I never leave home without my camera. The second, it is this photograph that is my first attempt at Grisalle. Comments and suggestions are warmly welcomed.

The fog intially gave me an eeire feeling but after further viewing and your comments it became more comforting than haunting.

Very nice :-) THe title does well. More than a thing, it is a place, a mark in time. Lovely sense from the soft and subdued tones

Great picture here Michele. Few things sadder than an empty park bench. Needs a couple to fill the space, you know what I mean? Your little write up was very touching. It did shed a whole new light on the image. (How can I be so punny when you've made me so sad?) Well, I'm sure that ol bench still has a lot of years ahead and will see lot's more love. Hugs from Dave :^)

Far from Grisalle, color and warmth abide! I love to see photography with atmospheric conditions. Instant mood prevails! The story that accompanies this lovely piece is so tender and peaceful! What a magical way to go! ;)
