Description

The garer goes around the leg of a female to hold up the leggings up[ I do not know if I spelled garer right so that why I put this wording on it] Here you see the groom takeing off the garer[hope i spell right]. In this next of the woods that what the groom do he take off the garer and stands and throws it backwards as the single men stands and try to caught the garer. I saw the forus is on the bride and groom which it should be. I say this is art so why not have a pulling contest of focus points. Those boys in the back really do not show up in the photo so I cut and paste them on another layer then I past them thought the xero line filter. Now I got a contest going on the point of veiw. You tell me if this is good or not to have a contest of point of veiw? thanks for looking and comments and votes. I was real busy yesterday I had to a full day and had to make the wedding of a man and woman that I remember as a running noise ten years olds lol Now They grown and getting marry

Removing the gar(t)er is an odd custom, especially among more conservative crowds, I have always wondered how it has come to be...I like it! Hell, a burlesque show would be fun too! ; ) Love how you isolated the children in the shot! Very creative!!

The garter is symbolic of the bride's underwear and by extension her virginity. In older times, the groom would take the bride to a bedroom adjoining the wedding reception; there he would take her clothing away, then take away her virginity. And all this while the wedding guests waited on the other side of the door! When the marriage was consumated (i.e., after the couple made love for the first time), the bride would dress in different clothing and return with her husband to the reception. Nowadays we just reduce the whole thing to the groom removing a single garter; the guests let their imaginations fill in what will happen later.

I'd say the most important focus point is created by the three nearest persons focusing onto her garter. I agree to take out the boys. IMHO

the grain is there because my flash did not go off and the image was dark so I use levels in the photoshop to bring up the image you see othewise it would being almost black. When you bring a photo from black you will get a lot of grain. Maybe there a way to do it with out the graning but I do not know it yet.

I don't know Jock. I like the first one better. My eyes automatically went from the bride 'n' groom to the children. Interesting play though! V (:

The top one, in color and depth, is too good to trash. Work with the grain perhaps, instead of against, maybe selectively bumping. The light straight through behind the small figures on both sides of the central one is the whole deal as far as depth and message is concerned, with the kids wondering what the heck is going on contrasted with the devilish sauciness of the female, and embarassed operating table seriousness of the two stiffs (THEY are being WATCHED, hehe). Forget the B&W and greyscale. It's a puzzle missing one piece to become great....Careful of them garter mocs. UNDERWEAR? With all the ersatz turtle solemnity and hyprocrisy going own, one could have at least come up with sumthin jazzy and K. Jamesey--"And the GROOM shall remove the BRIDE'S NETHERGARMENTS and KNOW her, waving the BLOODY SHEET and leading her to the KITCHEN SINK....", and SHE will giggle at his MIGHTY SWORD, or sumthin' like that, and seven out of ten will divorce in seven years. And they will get remarried and eight of ten will divorce again in 2 years. And they will WED again and again and again and the Churches and Synagogues shall profit of it MIGHTILY, yassuh....Garters hold stockings up, and always have, including men's and in collectively idiotic solidarities like the ORDER of the GARTER....

I like the top one and I like the grain, it gives it an air of uniqueness, different from the usual wedding photo. Very nice!

Yeh, as for an amateur like me you did it great! Funny, here we use to sell the garter! It's a way of the new couple do some money! And also use to cut the grooms tie in little, little pieces and sold it too! Anyway, you did an excellent work!

It's garter and yes, we do it here, too. I did it once back in 1974. Where did the years go???? Now my husband and I are getting old, LOL!
