Description
L15A Heavy Lifter Vessel
Although heavy lifters are not usually known for their involvement in active combat situations, Joanne Little Bear's "Toad" ship rose to prominence during the Battle of Six Moons.
Nicknamed 'the Toad" for the somewhat ungainly appearance of the L15A Heavy Lifter Vessel, Little Bear's ship was instrumental in breaking through defences then landing assault troops upon the enemy base at Moon Alpha and thereafter continuing to transport supplies to maintain the foothold.
Little Bear was deemed MIA after her vessel was discovered empty on moon Delta once the battle had ended. Although heavily damaged after sustaining a considerable twenty six hits upon it from ground fire, the Toad was still flyable and was quickly brought back into service.
To date no acknowledgment of Little Bear's capture or death has been made by the forces who had brought the ship down despite continued political pressure.
The L15A Heavy Lifter Vessel still remains a workhorse in many regions because of its reliability depite having been superseded by more modern craft. Most variants still retain the basic but competent compliment of weapon armaments that were established on the vessel during the Battle of Six Moons.
