Description

First of all, many. many thanks for the comments on the last image - much appreciated! This one, whilst not technically perfect, was really exciting to take - we'd driven through bright sunshine, coming through the Doolough Pass (in Co. Mayo, Ireland), and I just happened to look behind us, and saw this squall and attendant rainbow. Car screeched to a halt (felt like I was in 'Twister' or something!), I leapt out and starting clicking away. Best shot of what was rather an uninspiring day, lightwise. I just wish the distant hill line was in focus - but you can't win 'em all!

Looks like a rainbow twister (what's that? ;-) The yellow and red colors make a beautiful complement!

Nice capture! The rainbow of course, but the browns against the blue and white of the approaching squall are excellent. BTW, is this winter in County Mayo? -- Dick

This is last Saturday in Co. Mayo (ie 4th March) - so in Ireland it's officially spring (which starts on 1st Feb) but in the UK it's still winter - according to the Met office who go by the vernal equinox. So who knows? :) Thanks for the comments!
