Description

Hello All! Well, something came up and my Vegas trip was postponed 'til next weekend. I was still in the vacation-get-away- mood so went to this Lake about 10-15 miles from my home with my family. This is the upper Lake Castaic. I had to hike allot for this one! I am still a bit tired from it all... you cannot drive in so have to park wayyy at the top of the mountain . and hike and hike. and then from here this point its about 3/4 the way down. Went down. went up. went all over exploring and hiking that day with my girls. It used to be a picnic area in the 70s. Too much partying happened so this place here -it got shut down, when I was a teen sometimes shhhh I would play hooky from school sneak off and sunbathe here... You don't see anyone walking around up here these days. The picnic areas are pretty much like a ghost town thing . My girls didnt understand why the picnicing area look as though it was a scene from planet of the apes ...!! roads were mostly covered with dirt -tables, decks and old water fountains broken /falling apart ,ect. I remember going here for picnics in the early 70s as a child with my family. I kinda like that it was closed off because the natural beauty now remains untouched. Please do let me know if you like this kind of thing -if so, I took many pictures of this place at different places here and might do a little series on it. Thank you for all your time and comments .. !! Love you all! ((( big hugs ))) ♥ Kimmers ! :O)

What an absolutely lovely place it is !!! I too am glad that it is closed off and thus remains the same. This scenery makes me a little nostalgic for California. It looks so california, if you know what I mean. Wonderful place to go and sunbathe. lol. The water looks so clear and clean enough to swim in. I love this image. It is so reminiscent for me of places in Northern CA I used to go when I live there. Miss those kinds of lakes. Excellent shot and so well composed. Hugsssssss

WOW - your pic has got so much depth! The path - where does it go? The tree - lets walk past and see more, the river - where did it start and where does it end? And the sky - lets go suntan. Brilliant shot!
