Description

Nothing fancy. Simple. No fuss. They way he would want it. This is a simple picture of my Dad. A man that has always done everything and anything to protect, care for and make happy everyone in his family. Not an educated man. He had to quit school during 8th grade in order to start supporting his family. But he is one of the smartest men I know. He has survived many things such as a sniper shooting him in the head during World War II, a severe concussion due to a trucking accident in which we thought he was going to lose all memory but with sublime luck he didn't, open heart surgery, etc. And yet, no matter what he has had to endure, he has always come back because he says "I have to look after my family". He says he is going to live to be a 120 years old cause he can't leave his family, he has to be here to make sure we are all alright. So, I guess he'll just have to plan on living forever. Today is my Dad's 80th birthday so I guess he is well on his way to his goal :D Happy Birthday Daddy!!! I love you more than you could ever know.

Your dad is the greatest. I really hope nothing more happens to him that would be negative. He makes a great image. We all hope he could live to be 120 years of age. Excellent. Voted.

Thanks for sharing such an interesting glimpse into this very special mans life. What a blessing to have such a father. Your words make as you say "a simple picture" not so simple-they reflect the beauty into the picture. Maybe he should write a book of inspiration for the rest of us, I mean, he's got 40 years to do it. Tell him I said Happy Birthday and thanks for fighting for my country-he is my hero. Who knows, maybe he served along side with one of my uncles or grandfather. His generation truly was admirable.

Our true heroes are 80-year old dads and moms. I say this to my dad, he will be 80 too this year, and he's also the greatest! (they would make a great couple, your dad and mine ;-) Cheers to your dad and you! --Geert
