Description

I've been mucking around with the procedural terrain and finally had a minor success. I'm having some difficulties with creating the terrains. I'm not sure if it's me or Vue. I've seen some fantastic procedural terrains, so it's more than likely me. At least I'm having fun trying! Thank you for viewing.

I gave up on Vue terrains myself, so you are way ahead of me. This looks so inviting! I'll take a picnic basket and a blanket and put it right by the shoreline down there, and hold my calls, please;-)

Anything wrong with this terrain? I don't think so. You did VERY well here. Good to know that you have fun, this is what counts!

Looks good Shari. Procedural terrains are not the easiest thing to learn. 99% of the time the way they turn out is a complete accident. This one looks quite good.

i know, its not easy to create good looking terrains. i use standard terrain in my pictures only and can you with the procedural terrains unfortunately not help. the simplest way is, takes for the start a Dem file and works on it then after your conceptions. but i do not know something you have, nevertheless the terrain looks very well.

Nothing wrong with your terrain Shari, it looks very good, and the materials make it very realistic. Bear in mind that with proc terrains, the closer you get, the more details you see, so maybe this is why you're not happy with it, the terrain is not so close to the camera, and where it is, it's in the shadow, and there are not so many details showing, but this is normal, that's how it would look in the real world too.

I hate trying to fiddle with terrains myself. None of the ones I ever made looked anywhere as nice as this one. The testures are fantastic! Beautifully done!!
