Description

Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral is one of the most endearing landmarks of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The construction was started in 1918 and finished in 1951. Crown was originally constructed in concrete but was damaged in an earthquake 1995 and was replace by one done by the famous sculpture Octavio Gonzales. The crown was modeled from one that was worn by Carlota, empress of Mexico in the 1860s. the crown is held up by eight angels.

This is my second home and you've captured its very essence!! I was there when that earthquake hit, saw the shattered corona. They had the new one up by the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12th. Beautiful foto!!
