Description
This huge pond is near Ringwood, in Halifax County, North Carolina, and is full of Box Turtles, Bluegill, Catfish, and Water Mocassins.
It is on private land and can only be fished with express permission by the landownder, by members of his extended family.
However, it is a hazardous pond to fish, so most do not take chances with fishing it, as deadly poisonous snakes will swim toward any boats, sometimes in numbers!

bluegill sure are good to eat although. I caught as a teenager and water mocassins was always a problem. when it flooded they would come up to high land which happened to be my mothers former home. we was always killing them. when I was in college my mother's dog kept barking at a cabinet so my mother called a neighbor with a gun and he found a 6' long water mos. in her kitchen cabinet which soon lost it's head. excellent capture
