Description

This lizard i came across while touring the town reminded me that "The Night of the Iguana" was filmed in Puerto Vallarta, and while the movie was being filmed in the 60's, Elizbeth Taylor had a house across from Richard Burton's house connected by a bridge over the street.

very cool picture. I wonder what that is because it has the color of a Gilla Monster but not the textured skin.

Great picture, but it's not an Iguana. It's a monator. Bigger & badder. JimL

I thought a monator is Asian, iguanas are South-American. Just a thought... Love the colors and the expression of the... beast ;-) Very well captured!!!

note: i do not claim this is an iquana. what i said was this lizard reminded me of the movie, "The Night of the Iguana". JimL is right, it is a monitor lizard for it is a close cousin to the monitors of Kenya, East Africa that i've seen and posted on this site.
