Don't forget, if a ship has entered a fog bank and decided to stop sailing and ride it out, then the anchors would be dropped to hinder the ship from floating on the tide into a possible unknown shore (or other vessel, if in port). If you are showing the ship still sailing, then some or all of her sails would be set. Also, either way, if the captain knows, or doesn't know, if other ships are in the vicinity, he would have the ship's lantern at the stern and lanterns in the fighting tops (also incorrectly known as the "crow's nest") lit to warn other possible vessels of her presence...

Did you model the ship? In what SW? It seems a very nice model. I do like the image and mood. So ok, drop the anchor and use a couple of small yellowish point lights to meet the expectations of the knowledgable commentor. He does make sense.
