Description
The Dalarian War enters its last days. Seventy Standard Galactic Years of conflict have sucked in many planets who, at the outset, felt loyalty neither to Dalaria nor to Qeddiq. Dalaria was famous for her ground-troops; once Dalarian starsoldiers were on your soil, it was time to give in. Qeddiq had the galaxy's best navy, able to deflect with contemptuous ease any attempt by Dalaria or her allies to invade Qeddiqi space. That made for years of stalemate. Many argue that the ill-advised Qeddiqi expedition to Charybdis was the turning-point. Charybdis was the one world with the fleet strength to rival Qeddiq and, having annihilated the invaders, she aligned herself with Dalaria, to the extent of sharing the most sensitive details of her starship technology, as well as supplying training to Dalaria's starcrews.
The victory was a bit of an anti-climax. Rather than the titanic clash everyone expected, the end came when the Dalarians surprised the Qeddiqi fleet in port. It was over in seconds. Most of the survivors surrendered there and then. Some dispersed to various nearby planets, imagining, perhaps, that the Dalarians would be too busy to pursue.
Well, they were not - and here they are: those justly feared Dalarian infantry, determined that this victory will be final.

I can't for the life of me see why an image this good has got no commennts at first so let me be the first! The landscape is very well done, and I love the suit textures. A tiny point, but the rays emerging from their pistols could perhaps use a different texture?

Thanks for the comments. You're right about the rays, of course. They were the one texture which got lost between Poser and Carrara, so I had to try to set something up in Carrara. Ideally, I wanted a combination of a vivid colour, or two colours, a glow effect and a degree of transparency.
