maya's name has many roots. First and foremost she is named for "Maya," the Greco-Roman goddess of the earth and she is also the goddess of fields.. Maya is mainly remembered today as the goddess of spring and rebirth. "Maya" means "the maker," and every spring she makes the lush green grass and the fragrant flowers grow again. She is also praised as "the grandmother of magic" because her son [the god Hermes, the god of death, which contrasts to Maia's role as bringer of life each spring and was the first to discover that mysterious art. The month of May was named for her; the 1st and 15th of May were sacred to her... don't know how many hours painted on this but 13 days and painted about 3-5 hours in one day on it.. so i don't dare to count how long because its gona frustrate me lol tree and moonbrushes, from my own stock. the bigger picture can be found on my deviant art gallery . painted more than 40 hours on this one:)
