Bitter and serrated
The artic air serves to
Asphyxiate
And obliterate
The already naked terrain
The surging gale heaves
The rigid corpus
Creating only
Shiver
A quiver
Through the fragmented, ice-glazed rivers
Upon further assay
The essence throughout is
Serenity
Of placidity
One of calm, not calamity
The swelling ozone
Draped in rich velvet
The piercing night
