Description
another 'Bot design for the CgChallenge at cgtalk..
Here's a small quicktime turntable ,10.mb
http://home.xtra.co.nz/hosts/polycount3d/CGTalk/JourneyBot3.mov
there's a couple errors in it,some missing textures on the back,& I forgot to turn the wires on one side to 'visible' ..there's a general lack of detail on the backside as I don't epxect that part to be seen in the final render, still a bit of tweaking need on some areas, the glass in particular needs more grime..but I'll put this one aside now & move onto the next one
thanks for viewing
Cheers!

I was reading up on the challenge when you posted this. I was almost thinking about thinking of entering. Thanks for saving me the time. ;) Great looking little guy.

This looks cool, Stefan! I like the battered look it has, and the wires in that clear plastic! Excellent work!
dreamlight
Insane (positively) amount of detail!!! :) AWESOME!!!
Ajax
whoa. Very cool texturing on that one, Stef.
tiku_67
Reminds me of the surveillance bots in Half-Life2 (I've been playing it recently). Excellent work!
4blueyes
what blockbuster movie is it in? ;)
Othosmops
This one is absolutely cute. I regret that you did not develop (and purchase) it a year ago, this would have been my Arthoodentoo character for sure!
TheWingedOne
The amount of detail as well as the texture work is amazing - "stonemasonry" at its best! :o)
korrektor
... you are the best :)

It reminds me of the survelance bots in a story by Larry Niven. Looks great!
Vaken
Amazing ! (Like always should I say :-) The only thing I could say is that the counterweights are immediately recognizable from your "thingamaprop" handles. Not a problem though.
Lifeform38
Brilliant texture. It really gives you the impression that the machine has been used a lot. Very efficient model work too.
Cosme..D..Churruca

This is really well done. The texture work youre producing looks amazing and totally realistic. This challenge entry piece of yours is going to be mind blowing; I'm sure of it:) A+ work!
artroland
Great design here. Well done!
DeathWalker
Superb work as usual!
Forevernyt
I think it's utterly amazing that you come up with this stuff right out of your head. Fantastic.
ElorOnceDark
Pretty cool Stef! I like the wires!
Zarat
Notable work. There's but one thing about the wires: if they are all kept in blue and yellow it looks somewhat repetitive. Ususally you find them in many colors. V

amapitodd
Awesome work.
ardphil
Great materials and modeling!
XxDarkMessiahxX
Wow, the work you put into your modeling is amazing. The detail levels some can only achieve thru texturing you do 3 dimensionally. Awesome job.
MajinBoo
Its true what they say you're your own worst critic. There is creative and so detailed, does anyone stand a chance against you?
billy-home
Outstanding as alway Stef, as the rest of your bots for this challenge
