Lavender Surrounds the Lilac
Lavender surrounds the lilac.
Their bouquet rivals that
Of the deep red Merlot
In my glass on the sill.
Their fragrance coupled,
Relaxes my soul
As it is carried
On the spring breeze
Past my brown Victorian chair
(an eye soar to my wife),
Where I lounge
Reading Billy Collins.
Exorcizing my fears;

I like this writing, although I must admit reading it made me sleepy, which in my case was a great thing, for I read it last night, and had a wonderful sleep. All rested up now and felt it only right to comment and thank you. Excellent visual here as well as the writing itself is warm and smooth as the Merlot.

Oh my gosh, your words are perfect. I've seen many, including myself, comment on how well you paint a visual picture in our minds. However, I must add, your words also give a physical sensation. I always hear the noise, smell the smell, etc..you get the point. What a gift to write so the mind attaches to the words-to me the quintissential purpose of a poem-to make us feel. On another note, what is it with you guys and those "special" chairs? Every man seems to have his own special one of choice. LOL Nice work!
