Description

Taken from the wikipedia entry for "Trill (Star Trek)" "In the fictional Star Trek universe, the Trill are a race of symbiotic lifeforms native to the Alpha Quadrant. Their home world is also named Trill." "The hosts, as they are called, are a humanoid race with either characteristic black or brown spots visible from the top of the head, down each side of the face and neck, and down across the shoulders and the sides of the chest, thighs, legs to their feet." "The symbionts are helpless, worm-shaped lifeforms who contain the memories of their previous hosts, and who inhabit the abdomens of the humanoid hosts. When a host and a symbiont are joined, the resulting individual is considered a new being. The Trill society is a complex and elitist one. Only joined Trills can be politicians, and they make all the planet's decisions. When a host dies, the symbiont is transplanted into a new host. A symbiont who is neither implanted into a new host nor returned to their habitat (pools of nutrient-rich liquid on the Trill homeworld) will quickly die, as will a joined Trill host from whom the symbiont is removed after the first or second day." * * * * * With this post i'm showing off several new tricks i've learned recently for poser, including the creation of water (although it looks like oil here) with displacement maps and refraction/refleciton nodes as well as creating "atmosphere" which is where the white steamy stuff comes from. This one is also a chance to show off the freebie that Aery Soul (Awful Soul) is giving out to those who join and post the Aery Soul gallery (a sweet deal if you ask me). A final note: if the 'symbionts' look too yellow its becuase the stock texture they come with made them look too brown and essentially they looked like floating turds. Now they kind of look yellow turds... it's the one part of this post I don't like. Credits: body deformers by Wyrmmaster, skin tex by StefyZZ (trill spots by me), face morph based on the 'terry' morph by Porthos (modified by me), clothes + accessories by Aery Soul, scenery props by DM, lighting by me, 'symbionts' by davo?
