Description

Okay, last one.. When I first went out into the blizzard (It still had 5 hours to go) I was looking for interesting shots. I was taking shots of the snowy branches in the trees... And I spotted this! Can you see it? I had to back track and find a better angle, then I waited for the wind to stop blowing it around. There it was, a single leaf! Winter is almost over, and the trees are all bare. And here is this single "Defiant" leaf!!! Well, I thought it was cool! Minor post work: Adjusted levels & resize. I did not add the leaf! Happy Hump - Day!!! ; )

Lovely photo. Colored leaf in the center is a nice, artsy touch.

Still going strong i see. Thats an eyecatcher for sure, and it takes a kean eye to spot it when not looking for it. Beautiful wintershot, even though it brings me some anxiety. Ever since my accident, the word "blizzard" make my neck hurt some more. Have a great day Eric. #:O)

That single leaf is super duper cool. What a find and what a photo! I bet you could come up with some wicked mirrorscapes using those tangled snowy branches. Thanks for sharing this bit of winter weather with this Floridian. ;]

That is classic. This would be good for one of those inspirational posters. Defiance. The ability to withstand change. Or something like that. ;) Nicely done.

Yes , let us hope that this is about done !! We had the same storm, I couldn't believe it. Seemed that last Friday , it was so beautiful outside , I took the kids and the dog to the park :) We even grilled outside , then two days later , we got dumped on so badly it hurt ! I think we ended up with 10 inches ..LOL .. Well I have to say I like your capture and you were brave to go out and take this perfect ode to spring !!~**~!!

Defiantly waving a souvenir of color and Autumn (an Etruscan word in origin, also qua concept), and through a deep winter sleep dreaming of Spring! Another great one--also like the depth through the branches into the snowy field behind. Once knew NE blizzards and snowstorms well--a house actually snowed in up to the the second floor and the exit dug out almost as a tunnel! Later, places too COLD for much snow, hehe. But only a couple of ice storms. I urge all not to miss your recent collection of thumbs, which are brilliant and spiff!

This is the kind of shot that every serious photographer prays for, and they are sometimes right in front of us, but difficult to spot. Glad that you spotted, and captured this one!

The eye of the artist is often rewarded. This image is a good reminder to tote a camera along at all times if possible!

I think we're all that little leaf, just hanging in there. Excellent capture. :-) Snowed in up to the second floor, eh Hop? Must've been '78. That was my first New England winter after leaving southern California, and the snow was over my head (I was 8). I've been pretty much on the anti-snow bandwagon ever since. lol.
