Description

This is Mr Jones during his "Daft as a badger" period, where he was shovelling bucket loads of Bolivian marching powder up his beak and thinking he could walk through walls. In between his bouts of psychosis and drunken rages, he did manage to produce some fine music, though. Character morphs, pose and lights by me. No postwork on render but the background gradient was done in Photoshop. I used a few wave deformers on the shirt to make it look a little more like cloth, then added a fraction of displacement with the weave node. Clothes were adjusted in Wardrobe Wizard. Microphone freebie by APS. Thanks for looking. Comments always appreciated.

Nicely done. Bolivian Marching Powder. Really... a rock star / group would never take mind altering substances ... ask Pink Floyd

Pretty good likeness here but there's something slightly off around the jaw/ear area, and I remember his hair as being less red during this period and more blonde (could be wrong though.) Bowie has pretty bad teeth so I'd use a crooked morph on them and maybe an AO node on the mouth. I like what you've done with the shirt, it looks more like real fabric than many an effort. Good posing, too.

Karen, Bowie's hair vaired in colour quite a lot at the time. Around the time of "The Man Who Fell To Earth", it still had a lot of orange in there. When he recorded Heroes, it was more or less his natural colour. You're right about the jawline; I can't really do much else about that. Teeth... well, his teeth are perfectly straight now but back then, they were somewhat crooked.
