Very moody. My feelings about the flower are a little mixed, but it does add a beautiful touch of orange as contrast to the "dust." All in all, I think it's an excellent composition!

This image is dark in the sense of mood - nothing to do with your lighting. You've managed to create the right feeling using colour and there's also an organic element involved here. The thin trap shapes remind me of plant roots. So the general feeling is of being under the ground. I wondered if this is also the feeling you have and hence the title. Somewhere you have used a layer with the merge mode set to "difference" because the colour changes over the lighter areas. Overall you've created an image I've found fascinating and made me want to think. That's clever.

Astonishing art! A dark and moody image! As strange as this might sound, your image and title made me think of how we destroy the beauty of this planet we call home, and yet in the end, we return to it. Wonderful art!
