Anciently, if it were not a neologism and pseudoscientific, it would have meant fear of the "market place", which also came to mean "public", from the Latin "publicus", of a different root, and related to "populus". What does it mean now? One supposes whatever the nearest certified schizoid shrink says or tries to say it means. Aristophanes had a much more skilled and enduring hand at this sort of thing. ....Might one perhaps in the MEANTIME opt for, say, "Fright of Poplar Trees", hehe. Smiling and ironic depth and the illusion of wide open space in, er, the otherwise crowded space of the lower left....Now about them egos and superegos and ids....
