Description
River Trent, Gainsborough, England. Taken about 12 years ago before the Riverside Regeneration was started. This one of the few Rivers in England that has a nice tidal wave known locally as an Eagre (pron' ayger). It is also the town that King Canute and his father King Sweyne Forkbeard of Denmark ruled England from; before sailing to London after his fathers death 'Feb 1013' to rule the country from there!

Damn! Gather the danged Danegeld, my son, and paddle your own Canute! 1066 all that. Superb capture--barge over glass and flying....Was Denmark a little Sicily to Overseas Wise Guys? You know, go back, meet the folks, hire a few contract robbers, rapists, and pillagers with a back for the oar, maybe find a byrde?

Wonderful capture, I'm always fascinated by the beautiful bending in the water by the first wave, the soft shape that is so special! Original work! :)
