Brilliant, including composition, color, depth. Don Q. and Sancho--also the archetypes of Cisco and Pancho, and of course innumerable others right through the Lone Ranger and Tonto, Batman and Robin, and on to Easy Rider and beyond. As a formula so persuasive it makes a lot of utter crap more plausible than it should be. As an organizing image of ultimate reality, also Christ and Peter in the NT. Here reDUCKED digitally to dirtyharry (as verb here, but he was the archetypal loner) the sacred and very scared scarecrow....
