Years later, many thousands of miles from her mother, she had stood on the steps of a great dais in a marble castle with statues of nymphs and satyrs frolicking in wild sexual abandon, paintings that would have made the Avandorian nuns gasp and faint, and people of unearthly beauty scantily clad as though that were natural. Here was the place for her. This would be where her heart and her libido had driven her.

It was where her father had brought her in his final days. He had come to be with an old love of his, the Queen of the Kingdom of Carellon, as he died. He had seen in Fallon something familiar, a spirit and strength and love that reminded him of a time long before. She would be admitted into the Church of Aphrodite for training. Time had at last caught up with him, again, as she would one day learn. But despite her love for him, she would keep her mother's name, the name she was born to, the name that told of her Kiberran heritage, Fallon Bree Shanahan.

The years had passed in a haze of love and joy. She had learned many things, and took some of the talents she already had and made them even more powerful. In the end, she was sent on her acolyte's pilgrimage, to the far island of Hermaphros, on the other side of the continent, and had returned a full fledged Defender of the Sisters of the Pearl. For a poor bastard child coming from the sexually repressed cultures of the Kiberran and Avandoria, she was taking to this new life like she belonged to it. Her future was quite bright indeed.
