Description

If you look long enough and listen to the wind and moods of this small river valley, the story will come to you. A run down abandoned cabin, a passing Elk and a Eagle, doing what a Eagle does best. Ed Barns came up here, fed up with cities, co-workers, so called friends and women. Took him up to a year to build this cabin, it was his home for the next 42 years. Ed fished the lake, hunted when he need more meat, dug a small garden out back and enjoyed natures show. Got cabin fever during the winter, a few times he couldn't even open the door for all the snow. Back 20 years or so, Ed discovered gold in the stream. He was always going to pack up and live in a big house in the city, but he never did. Ed died up here. His bones are still in the cabin and his gold is buried out back, next to that little garden. The Elk wandered down off the hill. It's mating season, Big boy is looking for love. Nothing here, you can still smell man, faint but still there. Maybe the next valley. Old bird flying around, checking out haunts for food. Birds can't smell. This cabin has always be a good spot for a rabbit or two. A few times even Ptarmigans. Ed loved this life, lonely as it was. The Elk will find his mate, he is strong enough. The Eagle will get his rabbit, he is swift enough. Everything has a story, some change from day to day, some last a life time. The Elk and Eagle do the day for day thing, People like Ed do it for a life time. Whats your story?
