Description

Ultrafractal 4.02 - Photoshop 7 Here's one with a little more color and a little more traditionally fractal. The next few I upload (unless the groove happens and pulls me off on a tangent - again! lol) will be fairly abstract. I'm trying to "disguise" some fractal images and make them look more like paintings. I'm thinking that maybe they might go over in the "mainstream" art world more if I can get a look like they are "hand-made"? Like many paintings, you need to stand back like 4-6ft away to get the full effect rather than looking way up close. This guy has a neat spiral that I found using Toby's "Painter's Trap" ucl during a 1-layer "challenge" in the Forum and just seemed to be dying to take a dip in the "lake". Spring's comin' and the water's getting warmer - woohoo! Thanks for stopping by and I hope y'all enjoy this one. Holler if you need a towel! lol Rick (Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! :-)

Really nice Rick, I like it's "handmade" quaility. But, personally, I much prefer your "out-there" style of fractals. Course that don't make you any money cause I'm broke. The texture is beyond wonderful and that particular shade of green in the background really appeals to me. Nice one!

Rick, I think art is an exploration of who a person is as well as a communication waiting for an opportunity to dialog about life. Exploring the mainstream to have that dialog is as valid and exploring any other segment of 'humans'. Sometimes the viewers filters selects for the communication vechile not the foundation of the communication. I think the foundation of your art can be put into any medium you choose. Thank you for exploring and sharing with all of us; it makes a difference to me to have the opportunity to have beauty and art in my everyday life and this forum is great for that accessibility!!

Great! Dare I say that I think it would be .5% better without the texture? Ignore me though, I'm just a beginner. 9.5/10, but that is good for Excellent I think!

The colour choise is excelent, but for so soft compozition the textures are overall. Don't get obsessed for handmade look,it's not working every time. I'd try to give more light and aquarelli look:)

In your case this is an usual image because it looks so "fractallike" ;-) This doesn't quite look like canvas; more like... eh... velvet or something (because of the stripes). Anyway: a beautiful image. Love that soft colouring.
