Description

So the two pics are seemingly the same... BUT ...they are not! The bottom one has a crosshair filter added in PS. One is sharper and more appealling, I have my views. I'd like to knew which y'll think is the better one... Tx so much for viewing, I'm really enjoying shooting jewelery!

I prefer the 2nd one because of more sharpness; both have dominant shadows though...

I prefer the second one, the light seems to be more clear. Have you ever tried the Paint Daubs filter (Filter menu - Artistic) to enhance the sharpness and clarity? Just try it with both sliders on 1... I find it very useful instead of Unsharp Mask.

Is this taken with your new camera? I think the overall quality is so much better. I agree with gwfa, i too prefer the second one. Beautiful shots Vera. #:O)

In my oppinion the 2nd is better. In the two photos, a part of the material is sharp, and the material as far of the composition is concerned is the background. The main subject (the rings) must not be less sharp than any part of the background, that's why the 1st photo doesn't work well, and the 2nd works much better.

Love the sparkle of the second picture as the stone reflects much better. Of course, if it doesn't sparkle, don't buy it.

I agree with claudialee... I really like the colors and sparkle of the stone in the #2 picture. I also like the way the material has such a nice texture and softness around the edges. :-) Excellent shot and fun PeeWee!! V

Number two is also the image that has the crosshair filter on it... So we learn everyday - today's lesson the PS filters can help more than the PS controls...

yeah the second one is much better, but perhaps have the light coming from a diffent angle. Gems are truly magnificient when u can see their shine and the metals there sheen:)
